Beijing – The Great Wall

The wall… no, not the one mentioned in the news these days. THIS wall, built in the 5th century before common era was once called a wonder of the world. Some even made the absurd claim that you can see it on the moon (spoiler alert, you can’t!) More precisely, they are walls – a series of fortifications the dynasties of China built to guard against nomadic raids.

These walls are now a national treasure and a must see for tourists. And a challenging hike if you enjoy a trek on the mountain on some 600 year old large stairs.
