Cats of Marrakesh

Cats in the Islamic world is a fascinating topic. There are Hadith discussing that Prophet Muhammad said that cats are a clean animal to be respected and protected. In traveling to some Muslim countries I see that cats are generally well regarded and scenes of cats are integral to the image of some cities. Here in Marrakesh, cats are in the souks, near the mosques, in the gardens and we have seen and fed some cats in our hotel.
